From 1st July 2015 it is necessary that a small number of houses or apartments are tested to ensure compliance with the building regulations. These tests check how sound in the air travels through walls and floors, the impact of sound through floors. It is also tested how sound from a source i.e. television continues within the room has stopped. This is known as testing for “reverberation”.


A sound test can be carried out by a SITRI Registered Tester. The BERcerts.ie team are SITRI Registered Testers.
